January 15, 2020 – General Meeting: Chik Brenneman, winemaker and partner with Baker Family Wines in West Sacramento kicks off the first meeting of the new year and decade. Chik shares his thoughts and philosophy on all things winemaking. Who knows? Grower partner baseball legend Dusty Baker just might share the table with Chik! $15 per person for non-members.

February 19 – General Meeting: 2018 White and Rosé Wines Evaluation. Guest evaluator Craig Haarmeyer. Bring in your white and rosé wines from the fall harvest and get them evaluated before you bottle. You’ll receive tips on possible adjustments that can make your good wine into one they won’t forget. Please use this wine evaluation form

April 15 – MEETING CANCELLED! General Meeting: Adjusting Acid Prior to Bottling.  Guest speaker:  Scott Harvey.  Scott shares the importance of ensuring appropriate acid levels prior to bottling the wine you’ve worked so hard and long to make.

June 2 – Smaller wine quantity and cellar management.  Join us for in a Zoom session on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at 7 pm and let’s chat about what’s in your cellar.  The forum is designed to provide answers to your questions on small cellar heat and equipment management, ageing and oak additives in carboys, testing, finishing, and sourcing grapes and preparing your cellar for the upcoming harvest.  This forum is is particularly beneficial for newer winemakers.  Members only, please.  Contact Gin Yang at for Zoom invitation.

June 13-14 –  Jubilee! CANCELLED Enter your best into the Club-exclusive wine and label competition.  Wine judging is on Saturday, June 13 with awards ceremony and picnic on Sunday, June 14.  Wine entries accepted from April 15 – May 20.  Each current membership gets first wine entry free.  This event has been cancelled.

June 17 – General Meeting:  Virtual Meeting –  Harvest Basics.  Wreckless Blenders winemaker and former member John Troiano gets us fired up for the upcoming harvest:  balancing pH, acid and brix; pre and post fermentation tips, and more chemistry.  After John’s live presentation he’ll be answering your questions.  Go to this link for instructions to receive Zoom invitation.

July 11 (Saturday) – Make Fruit Wines.   Judy Pinegar makes wines from just about any fruit she can get her hands on and she’ll show you how to make wine from your orchard bounty.  She’s frozen some apricots for the workshop.  Limited to 6 participants.  See this blog post for the details.  Members only. July 15 – General Meeting:  Virtual Meeting – Adjusting pH in Your Wines.  Scott Harvey of Scott Harvey Wines explains the science in adjusting pH in your wines – adding tartaric acid to lower pH or potassium carbonate to raise pH.

August 1 – Winemaking 101.  Designed for new or novice winemakers – learn the basics of making dry red and white wines.  Location:  Granite Bay.  Club equipment certification at workshop for members.  See this post for more information.
